NetCE has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6361. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NetCE is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, NetCE is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. NetCE maintains responsibility for this course.
Designated courses have been approved by NetCE, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for educational credits, NAADAC Provider #97847. NetCE is responsible for all aspects of their programming. Please refer to individual course details for approval information.
The Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors accepts NetCE courses per Texas Administrative Code.
The Texas Board State Board of Examiners of Marriage & Family Therapist accepts NetCE courses per Texas Administrative Code
The Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Program accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC, ASWB and/or NAADAC approved.
Continuing Education Requirement
The Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, The Texas Board State Board of Examiners of Marriage & Family Therapist, and The Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Program accepts NetCE courses
LPC and LPCS are required 24 hours every two years, all of which can be completed by independent study.*
A minimum of 4 of the 24 hours must be in ethics, 2 hours of which must be directly related to Texas LPC ethics. The Texas Jurisprudence Exam is required every renewal, and will count for 1 hour of Texas ethics. LPC and LPCS may complete 2 hours of ethics with NetCE every renewal period.
LMFT and LMFTS are required 30 hours every two years, 15 hours of which may be completed by correspondence courses.*
A minimum of 6 of the 30 hours must be in ethics every two years. LMFT and LMFTS may complete 5 hours of ethics with NetCE every renewal period.
LMFTA are required 15 hours every two years, 6 hours of which may be completed by correspondence courses.*
A minimum of 3 of the 15 hours must be in ethics every two years.
LCDC are required 40 hours (24 with advanced degree) every two years, all of which may be completed by home study.*
A minimum of 3 of the 30 hours must be in ethics and 6 hours total in HIV, Hepatitis C and/or STDs every two year licensing period.
Beginning with renewals on or after September 1, 2020, licensees who provide direct patient care must complete a human trafficking course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
*NetCE courses are considered independent study, correspondence, home study.
